San Francisco Opera to Premiere "Bonesetter's Daughter"

THE WORLD premiere of "The Bonesetter's Daughter," a new opera by Stewart Wallace and San Francisco author Amy Tan based on Tan's best- selling novel of the same name; the West Coast premiere of Jake Heggie's "Three Decembers"; and the company premiere of Erich Wolfgang Korngold's "Die Tote Stadt" are among the highlights of the San Francisco Opera's 2008-09 season, announced Wednesday by company general director David Gockley and music director Donald Runnicles in a press conference at the War Memorial Opera House.

This looks like it will be wonderful although it's hard to imagine "next fall" arriving when it is barely Spring. This is something that I will definitely keep you up to date on as it promises to be an amazing new opera. Kudos to author Amy Tan for a break out into another medium.

I haven't heard the opera, but I though that Bonesetter's Daughter was one of the best novels that I have read by a living author.

Dennis has learned something from looking at your pix. There are things that usually go unnoticed that we should all observe more closely, then there are all these annoyances we should just ignore.

Dennis thinks if we spent more time studying beautiful things we'd have less time to focus on the things that annoy.

Dennis is easily annoyed and is trying to change
