As the year ends I wonder what roses have been left behind in my life and what dreams and musings were left to ruin in the rain. What drawers were pulled open only to be summarily closed? Life is such a happenstance and often we do this or that just because we did. Will premeditation lead to a more successful happy year in 2013 or not? As an artist I tend to follow an intuitive path and never quite know where I am going except that I am headed in the direction. In this new year I hope my path crosses with special people and we are all enriched. However, I will be spending my last few days of fateful 2012 dwelling on the rose I left behind? Who or what is yours?

A flower in a moment is a special kind of perfume

The rose bush outside my window delights me with its tiny roses and their amazing fragrance. I picked one this morning and marveled at the perfection of its design. This moment was as subtle, fleeting and hypnotic as a rare perfume. We need to pay attention or this beauty will elude us.

Princess Haiku is Shocked That Cecilia is really Cecil

Well, imagine my shock, said Princess Haiku when I discovered that my Cecilia Brunner roses were really Cecil roses. However a Cecil(ia) by any name is as lovely as a rose. This is going to be a brief entry as I have been busy printing copies of lost documents. Imagine my joy when I found an old computer with three years worth of writing on it, in the back of a closet. I forgot I even had it. I am so happy I am a rose in bloom.

Perfume Rose Harvest Tour

Princess Haiku is delighted to share her information about the Russian River Rose Company's "Perfume Rose Harvest Tour." All of her friends are invited and especially the cat, Chedwick who has been blue. This unique tour of a rose company is completed with a demonstration of a rose distillation to rose water and rose oil. The tours will be available every Saturday and Sunday in April and May. There will be two display gardens connected by a "Rose Allee" of 8 arches displaying 600 + varieties of roses. Princess Haiku will be there with her little digital camera taking photos for a visual depiction of the ultimate rose/flower experience.
