Metamorphose by Diane Dehler

Metamorphose

I

A swan floats into a
weir-fall singing
we are all lost.

II

I say, this is not true,
your soft hand on me

Discovers the place
where none of us are
lost.

III

I am a shell on a sandy shore
hollowed out mother of pearl
interior

IV

I become a gray dove
and the day is raining.

Our love a deep image
moving forever untouched
forever in water.
