space between words said, Princess Haiku

The poet achieves this transformation by enabling the reader to
experience new perceptions through the words of his poem. I
purposely say "through the word" rather than "in the word"
because the poetry which the reader experiences lies in the space
between the words which take the reader beyond the usual
referents of the word, while keeping him, nonetheless, under the
poets control.
