a revery of orchid said, Princess Haiku

Today was the last day of the San Francisco Orchid Exposition and I fell into a revery of orchid. The gentle fragrance of vanilla, green tea and tropical scent filled the air and time seemed to morph into haunting harp music.. Everywhere I looked I saw vivid and amazing flowers and was able to capture wonderful photographs. Many thanks to the friendly volunteers of the SF Orchid Society who created such a memorable event for the community.

I brought home a Sapphire Blue Orchid which I was told will bloom in 18 months. I intend to tell this orchid stories and write poetry for it as well as give it light and plant food. What tales will Sapphire Blue inspire? We shall have to see.
