a winter haiku, said Princess Haiku

One of my favorite blog friends in Japan disappeared suddenly and I wrote this haiku for them. Online friendships or connections are not exactly real and yet when we lose them, there is this absence.

Hope I'll never lose touch with you ~ and hope to walk around NYC & Nyack with you one day.

We live in a time when beauty and intelligence are at war... those who can hold the two together ... as a friend recently said of Wilde... are our true revolutionaries.

Sounds wonderful, squirrel. I would love to visit Washington Square Park again some day.

You say the most profound things Jacob.

I am firmly opposed to politics these days. -Think art endures despite or outside of politics. This is something for me to ponder on. It's a complex topic.

How beautiful and poignant this haiku, Princess. Yes, you are right, this "virtual life" has become part of our reality, the lines between real and virtual blurred and confused.

I know that even thought I've never actually met my blogging firends, the friendships are very dear to me. I'd miss a person with whom I blog very much indeed! (Such as you. So don't go anywhere.)

That's so sad... Some blog friends disappear, we don't know why. Sometimes suddenly the blog is silent, it happened once for me. Sometimes bloggers choose to stop. Or their life, their interrests are different. You may keep touch with them. Sometimes...
Oh ! You must ever remember how it was whatever it was and treasure it carrefully...
But something sure is that it is incredible and difficult to believe it happened : are we really true persons or just ghosts living somewhere-nowhere ?

After Winter will come Spring, don't forget that, Princess...

Hi Princess,

I sent you an email about that picture.

We have had good luck meeting people from the Internet. I have made several good friends that our paths wouldn't have crossed except for the net.

Thanks for the permission, Chris. Now I have to write a haiku to go along with the photo!

Bellezza, I have no plans to disappear. BTW Hope your traveler has returned safely.

That is a really good and provocative question, Cergie.
