a purple flower that is a cup, said Princess Haiku

A poet

A poet is someone
Who can pour Light into a cup
and raise it to nourish your
beautiful parched holy mouth

Wow, the color of this flower is so intense and radiant. Lovely and the poem beneath is inspiring.

“A poet is a bird of unearthly excellence, who escapes from his celestial realm arrives in this world warbling. If we do not cherish him, he spreads his wings and flies back into his homeland.” Kahlil Gibran

And your picture is a poem that fills one with longing.

How wonderful to have you back in such a surfeit of beautiful words and pictures! It took me by surprise (your return, that is) in that it was only when you left a message on my blog that I knew you were back. I can't quite figure out why for so long "Dreaming of the Sea" was all I saw when I checked your site.

In any event, your return is as if Spring itself has resumed; it is you yourself who "pour light into a cup" - thank you, as always!

my earliest memory of fairy illustrations is a fairy drinking dew out of a tiny flower cup!

In Morris Park in Philadelphia, the bloodroot have shed their petals. The May apples have opened their little green umbrellas and Solomon's Seal and False Solomon's seal have hung their pennants on the stem, though not in bloom... but violets, white and purple, and spring beauties--ah spring... are everywhere.

It's not for the future that we live... we have no future. In a billion years, long after we have vanished from this little piece of stone circling the sun, our star will have become a red giant and consume her children... no, it's for the moment, else for nothing. For the spring beauties, and the rue anemonie... for those willing to kneel close enough to the earth to see them, these humble flowers. For them, and for what we learn in finding them at our feet as worthy of our time... for this, we live. And regret not.

a poet is willing to dig deep beneath pretense, culture, polite society to that place where raw emotions live: love, hate, passion, pain, tenderness, care ..... and bring these up to the surface, into the light ....

i see that rawness often makes people uncomfortable. but then again, looking into a mirror can make people uncomfortable.

a poet is willing to see the emperor with no clothes on, and then tell the world about it ...

I don't know about that function, Diva. Sorry. Although, I do know about something called a google alert. You sign up for the alert and it emails you when it scans info on your topic.
