mystery creature with fiery Chrysanthemum twins
Yesterday, was a perfect day said, Princess Haiku, for a friend gave me a gift of Chrysanthemum twins. Who are you, I asked them as they burst into fiery beauty.
Who do you think they are?
I am full of mysteries today, Princess Haiku continued. I thought my several hundred year old guardian creature was a Fu dog and now I am not so sure. If anyone can identify it please let me know. It stands ever alert guarding my door and on certain nights exhales frankincense into the air with ancient force. BTW his name is George.

The breath of dragons, that's what your flowers are. Stunning.
Hmm, your "fu dog" does look like it might be an early fu dog but then again, like you, I'm not so sure. Whatever it is, it's beautiful and magical and mysterious and perhaps that's enough to know?
I was told that it was Han dynasty and I will google "early" fu dog and see what comes up. You are right though; that its mysterious beauty and magic is enough. I have to get some more charcoal and will take more photos of it exhaling frankencense.
oh princess, those chrysanthemums are so perfectly gorgeous !!! and being a dragon myself, well .... (she says with modesty, heh)
I love george - even more so that he's a unicorn. mythical yes. magical yes. otherworldly: for he sits and guards the door between your world and the other ...
what a delightful friend you have, lucky you!

WOW! these pictures are so alive and fiery and passionate..the power of everyday objects! These flowers are something else entirely!
I kept trying to make out the books in the background - if you invited me for tea, I think I would stand up in front of your book case all the times.
