I saw this creature in a store window and I believe it to be a gryphon. What do you think? If mythology and folklore are true this creature is very skilled at defending itself by being wily and devious. I could use some wiles, said Princess Haiku, tossing her giant chrysanthemum stalks on the oak table, but where do you find them?

That beautiful beast is indeed a gryphon - they're wonderful creatures - perhaps if you ask nicely he'll lend you some wiles :-)
No mistake, that one is a nice statue of a gryphon. Where do we find them is still an enigma for me, I haven't seen any around my place :)

Yes - it is a gryphon. wiles? some of us are head on in life and some of us can patiently use wiles to get what they want - I think it's a personality thing (me, I'm pretty much head on).
It looks a lot like the gryphon at the link you gave us. I would feel safe having it on guard. Beautiful and fierce. Ah the elusive wiles. Too funny, I guess I could use some too.

I have a Gryphon, but I didn't realize it's wily and devious ways! NOW I know where all those lost sox are.
It occurred to me because we have moved many times, that I like sculptures of animals. I have a small collection so to speak.
I'll look in Texas next month at the shop I found mine in and let you know if I can spy another for you.
If I had wiles I would probably be inept as using them - kinda like Wiley Cayote.
I've just put a griffin on my xmas list!

Such a lovely gryphon you've shared here! Wiles are sometimes found in the dark of the moon, growing beneath night blooming flowers... the purple kind!!!
