Frederic Clement; a marvelous children's book illustrator
Princess Haiku spent months searching independent bookstores for perfect books for her little nephew, Neptune, who was a most imaginative and pretty child. In fact she referred to him secretly as "the Botticelli" for his hair was pale gold and he had cloud large, luminous blue green eyes.
Read this my darling, she said and Neptune read, "The Painter and the Wild Swans."
Next he read "The Boy Who Drew Cats."
And in the nights that followed he read many more of these fine books illustrated by Frederic Clement.
The Voice of the Wood
La Chatte Blanche
The Merchant of Dreams
Neptune,
followed childhood's trail of crumbs
into the eye of night.
The Moon is full and it's time for sleep, called out Princess Haiku to small Neptune. He did not answer for he was lost in realms of enchantment and that is the best review any book can ever receive.
