Signs are funny sometimes, aren't they? You've reminded me about a sign that's been up for as long as I can remember, years and years and years. It says "temporary sign"
Time to start a journey of city adventures....
Salix, I love strange signs and collect pictures of them. One of the funniest ones in Berkeley, Ca was a sign saying "Rose Garden" and it pointed to the downscale "Pink Flamingo Motel." If you drove straight through the motel north into the hills, you would indeed several miles later come to the rose garden. :)

My favourite sign was one that hasn't existed for years but got featured in newspapers ocassionaly in the 60s-- it said

Then there's that signage on the freeway (I assume it's still there even after your recent ramp meltdown) saying that it goes both east and west. I can't remember if it's 80 east, 580 west, or what, since it makes no sense in any direction.
